Mission Statement

Cumbria CVS in Barrow works towards the development of the local voluntary and community sector.  By providing quality support to both individuals and organisations we enable them to meet the needs of local  people communities more effectively.

CVS...

is a local umbrella organisation which supports voluntary groups and promotes community action. It is one of a wide network of similar organisations nation-wide.

· Offers consultation and advice on a range of practical and structural topics across charity law, constitutions and trustee responsibilities.

· Has representative access to a large number of voluntary and statutory groups, forums and committees.

· Has a membership which includes voluntary groups who provide a variety of services for our community.

· Produces Focus, a monthly newsletter keeping the voluntary and community sector informed of current developments and opportunities.

· Has a dedicated staff team with specialist skills ready to work one-to-one with people and organisations.
